6. Captain Jack Sparrow

It’s fun to consider the fact that the Pirates of the Caribbean films were supposed to focus on Will Turner’s (Orlando Bloom) adventures and have Captain Jack Sparrow only star in the first one as a side character. Clearly, the filmmakers disagreed with that notion from the start as they created one of the best introduction scenes for a character in recent memory. Consider a man who is so charismatic, and so full of himself that he confidently strolls into port on a sinking ship so he can bribe a local customs official and get drunk at the local tavern/brothel. That’s the ultimate pirate captain in my mind and that’s why fans remember Johnny Depp’s portrayal of Jack Sparrow and could care less about Orlando Bloom.
