They say less is more. The trailer for Cowboys And Aliens proves the theory as the footage gives us very little knowledge of the characters, the plot and no visual of the titular “aliens.” Director Jon Favreau (who recently stepped down from helming the rest of the Iron Man franchise) gives us a western with an indirect crossover of James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Han Solo/Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford). The latter needed a grand return to the action scene after some ho hum roles, and yes, the disappointment that was Indiana Jones And The Crystal Skull. Yet again, we have a movie based on a comic book. But this one is not your traditional superhero saga. It looks interesting and I have faith in Favreau — I’ll check it out on the big screen for sure. Yee-haw!

How can I not see this in theaters? I am sucker for summer popcorn epics, especially sci-fi ones, and I was raised on Westerns, James Bond films, Star Wars and Indiana Jones, so I’m all in. Favreau hasn’t let us down since becoming a big-time director. His pictures are rife with humor, action and intelligence. Daniel Craig seems to be on a mission to out bad-ass himself in every film he does, and this could be the comeback Harrison Ford desperately needs. Saddle up, partners.
