logan j. fowler and bill bodkin go undercover …
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? No thanks.
I don’t think I laughed once during the trailer for 21 Jump Street, and that’s a bad sign. Based on the TV series featuring Johnny Depp that premiered in the ’80s, the movie version of the program casts Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as two cops set to go undercover in a high school, looking for a drug dealer. I honestly cannot put faith in this movie at all, and wonder why it was even made. Was 21 Jump Street screaming for a film to be made out of it? Besides that, why decided it was a good idea to cast Tatum, a bland actor, in a comedy? I have no idea. Honestly, pass. Just pass.

Theater, Rent, Undecided, No Thanks: Theater.
Our film editor Dan Cohen e-mailed me and said, ‘I can’t remember the last time I saw a good movie.’ Neither can I. So that’s why I want to see 21 Jump Street in theaters. It’s going to be funny, fun, an escapist treat. It won’t move mountains or change my life, but from what I can tell from this trailer, it could be pretty damn funny. Any film’s trailer that can make Channing Tatum look funny/charismatic, is impressive. I think his chemistry with Jonah Hill, who seems to have great chemistry with everyone he works with, will really make up for any weakness in the film. So sign me up. I’d like two tickets, some popcorn and 90 minutes of pure fun from 21 Jump Street.
