the news desk looks at the ‘fall out’ of today’s news…
The rumors, whisperings and conspiracy theories have all been put to rest.
Fall Out Boy, who announced their return to the music industry last week, have been announced as the headlining act for the Skate & Surf Festival’s opening night on Saturday May 18th. FOB, former Skate & Surf and multiple time Bamboozle Fest headliners (when the people behind S&S ran it), was a band fans had been calling for since the festival was first announced in November and when the news of their return hit the Internet, Skate & Surf fans clamored for festival organizes to bring the boys back to New Jersey.
Skate & Surf also added a slew of new artists (with even more to come) throughout the past week, with artists announcing it on their various social media platforms. Today, February 11th, the festival officially confirmed those bands.
On May 18th: Timeflies, LIGHTS and Streetlight Manifesto along with Air Dubai, Balance and Composure, Candy Hearts, Coasta, Crown the Empire, Death Sells, Driicky Graham, For the Fallen Dreams, Hi-Rez, Hundreth, I am King, I Call Fives, Jake Miller, Major League, Mixtapes, Paradise Fears, Seahaven, Sworn In, Tallhart and Wolves at the Gate have been added. They join already announced acts: Andrew W.K. (solo), Into It. Over It., Transit and Tyler Carter.
On May 19th: Cartel, Chris Webby, Danger Kids, Gideon, Ice Nine Kills and The Pro-letarians joined a stacked line-up which already includes: A Day to Remember, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Glassjaw, Rx Bandits, Bayside, Capture the Crown, Daylight, For All Those Sleeping, Hopsin, Hostage Calm, Issues, Leathermouth, Mod Sun, Palisades, Saves the Day, ‘The Poet’ Gregory Schwartz and the NJ premiere of the documentary Brooklyn Rocksteady.
Believe it or not, there will be even more bands added to this festival including the winner of this year’s local band competition, The Break, which is currently in progress.
