logan j. fowler and bill bodkin bring the heat …
Editor’s Note: The Heat was originally scheduled to be released on the weekend of April 5th, but it has been pushed back to a June release.
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Rent (but maybe theater). My lady and I have seen the trailers several times for The Heat, and each time we’ve both laughed heartily. The movie could end up being a total wash, but Melissa McCarthy easily earns my chuckles, and it’s nice to see Sandra Bullock kind of playing against type, as it seems she’s cutting loose during the film. I have a feeling that if the theater option doesn’t work out this will be a definite weekend rental. The movie just looks like a fun time. –LJF
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Theater. First off, I’m excited for this movie because fellow Rutgers University School of Journalism alum, Katie Dippold wrote this script. A former Parks & Rec writer, Dippold is a fantastic writer and has a terrific comedic flare. And I think this evident in the trailer. Bullock and McCarthy as a comedic duo is an inspired teaming and I think it’ll pay off huge and this film. This could easily be (and I’m sure the studios are banking on) the next Bridesmaids in terms of hilarity and box office success. I’ll be willing to give it a shot in theaters. –BB
