bill bodkin and logan j. fowler look at the new tom cruise flick …
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? No Thanks. Tom’ Cruise’s mission in space looks kind of “meh” to me. I’ve heard it being called “Mission: Impossible in space,” but the M:I movies always intrigued me a bit, this one does nothing for me. This might be decent sci-fi fare for many but I think I’ll pass, thanks. –LJF
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided: Rent. Oblivion suffers the fate of a bad release date. It’s coming right before the huge summer movie rush and if you’re counting your pennies, Oblivion might be the film that misses the cut due to budget. With that being said, Oblivion looks really good. Sure, we’ve seen this perfect/not perfect future scenario before, but it looks chock full of action and Morgan Freeman — two things humanity cannot live with out. I don’t get the M:I in space feel at all, nor do I feel this movie is going to suffer from a case of the ‘whatevs;’ I think this is going to solid, fun and thrilling. A perfect formula for a great rental or a solid theater experience. –BB
