Logan Fowler (Video Game Editor) Nintendo has always been there for me. Whether I just needed to shoot some ducks, stomp some Goombas, or slay some Stalfose (Stalfi?), those skeleton soldiers from Legend of Zelda, the point is that I’ll always love Nintendo, no matter what they decide to do with their games or systems.
My personal favorite Nintendo memory is when I was first entering into a relationship with my current girlfriend, she asked me “Do you wanna play Mario Kart?” Right then and there, I knew she was something special. We took on 32 tracks of Mario Kart Wii, all of them in one sitting. And she kicked my butt, but I gladly took the beating. Time and time again, she would own in Mario Kart Wii, but ultimately, this is something I look back on with great fondness. It’s become a staple in our relationship, those Mario Kart days or evenings, each vying for first place, and sharing our frustration as we lose or get hit by a power up that knocks us out of getting gold.
Whether it’s with friends or family, or someone really special (as mentioned above), playing video games can bring out the competitive side of you, but at the end of the day, it’s fun and memorable no matter what. Nintendo pretty much understands that people like to have a good time gaming, and their franchises definitely showcase how much of a great time playing together can be.
