Unlike some of my fellow staff members, I’ve never been to New York Comic Con or any con for that matter. I know, the geek community should have demoted me a long time ago, but I’m glad I received my first opportunity this year. There are so many great panels, guests, and events that it’s been really overwhelming for me to coordinate my schedule. It really makes you wish you had the power to be in multiple locations at once!
When it was announced that Jack Antonoff would be attending NYCC, I was a little bit taken aback. Not because he doesn’t deserve to be there or anything, I just didn’t think music was typical at this type of event. Out of all the geeky musicians out there that the con could have chosen, I’m glad it was Antonoff. I’ve been a fan of his since his Steel Train days, and Bleachers new album Strange Desires was my all time favorite album of this year. I’m excited to see him in the flesh, listen to him speak, hopefully meet him, and maybe see a few songs live. – Lauren Stern
