1. Seven (1995)
Come on, let’s be honest – this was a no-brainer. Brad Pitt will never be in a better movie than this masterpiece. What else can you say about Seven that hasn’t already been said? Awesome acting. Awesome writing. A great detective story. Great chemistry between the two leads, and one of the best third acts in cinematic history. If for some reason you haven’t seen this one, I won’t dare spoil it for you. Screw American Beauty. This is Kevin Spacey’s best performance. If there’s one element I can stress most with this movie though, it’s how good the screenplay is by Andrew Kevin Walker. The fact that it wasn’t even nominated for an Academy Award baffles me. Seven is one of those movies that sticks with you for a long time.
