1. Guardians of the Galaxy
It’s a tired and overused cliche, but this movie earned the “This has it all” phrase. What many expected to be a filler between the mainstream superhero flicks turned out to be the best Marvel movie of the year. This was Avengers-level casting, storyline, and had the traits which brought success to the mainstream comic book films such as Captain America, Thor, and Avengers. You did not have to know about the eons of war between the Nova Corps and the Kree Empire to understand the plot. You had a bunch of intergalactic misfits, a solid supporting cast, and antagonists who you wanted to see kick some hero-ass. Most important is being able to watch this over and over without feeling the “oh, here it comes” vibe. Read our review here.
