The WWE-EK: Let It Go…
Well, this week certainly was interesting. We got a replay of the Royal Rumble main events, a live SmackDown show, and… nearly the entire lineup for something called WWE Fast Lane. I’m not sure what it is. Is there a gimmick? On the “fast lane to main event?” In any case, seeing how WWE is giving away another PPV for Free this month, they stack the event with some relly good matches, except the build, I can already tell is going to be sloppy and rushed.
John Cena vs. Rusev – This is a GREAT match, but I wonder why they are giving this one away for free. This has WrestleMania written all over it, much like last year’s Cena/Wyatt match. Rusev is undefeated, I just cannot see WWE having Rusev lose to Cena in their first match. If this is a building feud, I am all 100% for it.
Triple H calling out Sting – You know this is headed to Mania for sure. With it being very unlikely the Undertaker will opt to put himself in the hospital again, seems like the new celebrity will be Sting. Do I see Sting having his own “WrestleMania streak?” No, call it lucky if he goes two-in-a-row.
Roman Reigns and Big Show – Honestly, outcome does not matter. This is filler for the PPV, and Reigns has his ticket punched for WM31. Big Show… Man, I wish they can find something for him to do. The guy busts his ass, regardless face or heel, I hope the company gives him some respect at Mania.
Teases for a Kidd/Cesaro Tag Team Title match are in place, feuds between Miz and Damien Sandow and well as Cody Rhodes and Goldust. Kane and Bryan seem to have ended their feud, and a rumored “show-stealing match” between Bryan and Dolph Ziggler has me shouting YES! YES! YES!
What doesn’t have me shouting is where Seth Rollins is going to wind up. There is a huge chance of a cash-in at WrestleMania, which would undoubtably send the crowd home, happy. Or do what they did for WrestleMania 29, the night after on RAW, Dolph Ziggler cashed in on Alberto del Rio and the live crowd lost their freakin’ minds, as well as I did sitting at home regretting not buying tickets to RAW ( I had gone to Mania the night before ). Rollins is saddled with an impromptu feud with Ryback, another meaningless one since Rollins is Mr. Money in the Bank. Not saying it won’t be a decent feud, but it really has no effect on future plans.
Lastly, WWE my guess to counter the worthless #CancelWWENetwork trend, publicized reaching over one million subscribers. Chances are, everyone who claims to have unsubscribed will either take advantage of the free month in February, or reorder in March for WrestleMania. Rumor has it the image people shared via Facebook and Twitter, showing a “cancelation confirmation” was a copy and paste of the same screenshot over and over.
Glad to see the internet wrestling community has regained their composure. Next up for RAW, Triple H is making some sort of “really big announcement” which regards both the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania. This time around, I hope WWE doesn’t cave in to fan pressure. Last year, they put Daniel Bryan in the main event, winning it, and made everyone happy. Don’t get me wrong, it was a fantastic finish, but perhaps with Bryan fresh off the injury list, an altercation with Brock Lesnar may not be a wise move.
