2. The commuter frees himself from the eye mural
By the time I started watching the second season, I thought the show could not possibly top the murders and tableaus of the first season. You would think there wouldn’t be anything else to do after you make a totem pole out of corpses. The very first episode of Season 2 proved me wrong. Though the focus of this season is much more on Will trying to catch Hannibal in the act, there are still other crimes going on.
This one involves a random commuter kidnapped by a serial killer and stitched into an elaborate mural of bodies that, when viewed from above, resemble an eye. This in itself isn’t so bad, save for one thing. That one thing is that the commuter is still alive. Can you imagine yourself waking up in a situation like this, confused and alone? I can. In the subsequent episode, he escapes by pulling apart the stitching and his own skin! I can imagine few things more painful.
This was actually my most horrifying moment for while. That is, until #1 happened.
