5. Scream – 1996
The Opening
I saw this movie at the un-Godly age of six because my older brother thought it would be a good idea to sneak us into it. What followed was 111 minutes of sheer terror I felt because I didn’t know what to make of it. Scream boasts one of the best opening in movie history; we think Drew Barrymore is safe because, well, she’s Drew Barrymore. Ghostface taunts her with horror movie trivia, kills her boyfriend and it’s blood curdling. She’s supposed to be safe but she’s not and it’s bloody, scary and, oddly enough, a little funny.
