Megan LaBruna – Quantico
Do you enjoy crime shows? How about watching complicated love triangles? Does a conspiracy theory or two grab your attention? Me too; which is why I’ve been sucked into ABC’s newest crime drama Quantico. I told myself I couldn’t commit to another hour long series that will most likely require you to watch every episode to know what is truly going on, but regardless I’ve been sucked in. It’s hard to say no to the allure of government collusion, especially when it involves such beautiful people. Seriously, if not for the story, watch it for the sex appeal because literally EVERY character is attractive. Even more intriguing; every character has a secret.
Unfortunately with only a few episodes having aired since the premiere we, as the audience, haven’t had the chance to figure out what each of these characters are hiding just yet. However, I’m sure in time we’ll start to piece things together. Regardless, I’m already hooked.
If you’ve missed the first few episodes allow me to catch you up: The main character Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra) has been selected as one of the elite few to join the newest trainees at Quantico. Six months later we see she has been targeted as a terrorist. Someone has planted clues everywhere to make her look undeniably guilty. Already I was wanted more. Who did it? Why did they do it? Does this have to do with Alex’s father’s recently discovered association with the FBI? So many questions. All that we do know is that Alex believes she is not guilty and therefore, the audience believes she is not guilty. The question now becomes which of her fellow trainees is on her side and which one is the enemy?
I of course already have my ideas as to who has set her up and who the guilty party might be, but that’s what these shows do. They give you a piece of the puzzle and make you think one thing and then in a few episodes they’ll introduce some new information from left field causing you to rethink your whole theory. If you are a fan of shows that are just there to entertain and make things easy, this may not be the show for you. With its interchanging time lines and constant character development, Quantico is one show that will definitely be keeping viewers on the edge of their seats throughout the course of the season.
