2017 is truly getting of to a musical start.
Ed Sheeran, after taking a break from music since December 2015 for travel, has finally released his much awaited singles in preparation for his new studio album entitled,”รท (Divide)”.
The two songs released are called, Shape Of You, a song about lusty love, initially written for Rihanna in mind, and Castle On The Hill, a return to Sheeran’s more mushy and emotional side of songwriting as it is a supposed love song to Suffolk England, but will surely be a love song for young lovers all around.
When speaking about his decision to release the songs, Sheeran is quoted as saying on twitter, “Cause Iโve been away for a bit.” (Source, BBC.)
Sheeran is reported as saying that he initially wanted to release new music a few months ago, but decided to hold off. He told Scott Mills recently, “The funny thing is while I have music waiting to be released I usually end up playing it to random people. Normally when I’ve been out drinking I’ll be like, ‘Hey mate do you want to hear my new song?’ that happens a lot.”
Both songs are sure to be hits, with their catchy beats and memorable lyrics, so welcome back Mr. Sheeran, it’s looking like its going to be a good year for you!
