Pop Break Live: Phish’s Baker’s Dozen, Night 1, July 21, 2017 at Madison Square Garden in New York City
Phish’s Baker’s Dozen run at Madison Square Garden in New York City has been one of the most talked about shows of Summer 2017. The iconic band’s 13 show running stretching from mid-to-late July to early August has been the buzz of the jam scene, and for Phish-heads alike.
The band kicked things off on Friday night, July 21. The night was a mix of Phish originals, and covers — some from Trey Anastasio’s work outside the band, and from some familiar and not familiar faces. Trey covers included “Pigtails,” and “Everything’s Right;” while the band also played Junior Senior’s “Shake Your Coconuts,” Josh White’s “Timber,” David Bowie’s “Moonage Daydream,” and “Coconut” by Harry Nilsson.
