Michael Bublé Brings Love, Laughs, and Spectacle to Sold Out Prudential Center

Pop Break Live: Michael Bublé at The Prudential Center in Newark, NJ

Word renowned singer Michael Bublé is known for his unmistakable voice, beautiful covers of classic songs, and probably one of the most popular Christmas compilation albums of all-time. But one thing I didn’t know before seeing Bublé perform at the Prudential Center, just one of many stops on his sold out world tour, was just how charming and funny the singer is.

During the breaks between hit songs he would address the audience with thoughts on pop culture (pretending to be on The Voice when singing in the shower), love (recommending that the single people in the audience who haven’t found love yet should try getting in a threesome), and marriage (having to explain to his wife that there is nothing going on between him and the girl in his music video). You could make the argument that Bublé was performing standup with the way the crowd was laughing that night.

But it wasn’t all jokes that evening. When he returned for his encore, Bublé addresses the elephant in the room. Back in 2016, his then 3-year-old son was diagnosed with liver cancer. Thankfully, he is now in remission, but Bublé reflected on the time away from the spotlight and with his family and was beyond thankful to his fans for not only showing up when he came back into the spotlight, but for all the love and well-wishes that were sent to his family during that time. And with that he closed out the show with a poignant cover of “Always on My Mind.”
