There’s no lyrical poetry from me that can do the band Shut Up any justice. This band just rips it up. A supergroup of sorts, Shut Up is comprised of Dan Matthews of Black Clouds, Bob Paulos of Gay Guy/Straight Guy and Jamie Conner of Sex Zombies. When they get together the music loud, fast, and in your in face. And you know what? It kills.
We caught up with the band for a quick interview as they get ready to play Happy Mondays at Wonder Bar tonight.

The members of Shut Up all are well-known musicians in the Asbury Park scene. Can you talk about how and why you guys got together to become a band?
We all agreed that, while we love our other bands, we wanted to play music that was faster and heavier than what our other bands were playing.
I saw a couple “promo” songs on your website — will you guys be putting out a full-length record, or a new EP?
Yes (finally)! We recorded it at Soundhouse Recording in Seattle, Washington with Jack Endino. It’s called … Nope! It will be out this summer digitally and tape, CD and vinyl through Capacitor Records.
