Marisa and Matt continue their annual breakdowns of every category at the Oscars one nominee at a time. This episode focuses on one of Marisa’s perennial favorite categories (Original Score) and one of Matt’s least favorites (Original Song).

For Best Original Score, the nominees are Terence Blanchard for Da 5 Bloods, Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross  and Jon Batiste for Soul, Emile Rosseri for Minari, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for Mank and James Newton Howard for News of the World.

For Best Original Song, the nominees are “Husavik” from Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, “Fight for You” from Judas and the Black Messiah, “Speak Now” from One Night in Miami…, “Io Si (Seen)” from The Life Ahead and “Hear My Voice” from The Trial of the Chicago 7.
