Tove Lo Brings Her Dirt Femme Tour to Philly’s Fillmore

Tove Lo ‘Dirt Femme Tour’ with Slayyyter at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on February 9, 2022

Swedish pop star Tove Lo stopped in at The Fillmore in Philly on February 9th and performed to a sold out crowd. She is touring in support of her critically acclaimed album Dirt Femme. The album promotes body positivity which she had mentioned previously was an issue for her as a teen.

Being quite the writer, Tove Lo has collaborated with many artists including Coldplay, Lorde, Chari XCX and more recently with Dua Lipa. Singer-songwriter Slayyyter opened up the show. Her provocative dance fueled club songs were a hit with the crowd. Some of the highlights were “Mine”, “Troubled Paradise” and “Clouds.” Her stage presence was very reminiscent of early Gaga, right down to the sunglasses, outfit and vocal styling. She got a great response from the crowd at the end of her set. No doubt her fans are eagerly awaiting the release of her newest album, expected in 2023

Tove Lo opened up with “Pineapple,” a cut off her new album. The stage setting was very cool with fog and simulated clouds. Her outfit choices were not for the faint of heart but the crowd ate it up! Her dance moves during “Are You Gonna Tell Her” garnered screams and massive approval. “Talking Body” is always widely received and appreciated, with or without the boob flash. This show came with it. The crowd was treated to an emotionally charged acoustic version of “Moments.”

It was one of her first hits and about her entry into Hollywood and the pressure she felt when being compared to other pop stars. She followed that with “True Romance”, a gut wrenching song about heartbreak. Another relatable song was on the Grammy nominated, “Glad He’s Gone.”

The 20 song set was such a crowd pleaser. She did a fan request and played “Cycles” and surprised the fans by playing “Borderline”, which was premiering officially that night at midnight. It’s a song about a toxic relationship she co-wrote with Dua Lipa. “How Long,” a song from HBO’s beloved Euphoria was perfect. There were so many other highlights during the night, especially on “2 Die 4″, Cool Girl,” “Call On Me” and “Grapefruit.” She played her biggest hit to date, “Habits”(Stay High) during the encore which is coming up on 10 years in March and ended the night with “No One Dies From Love.”

This was such a great night for her fans. It’s one thing just being one of the best singer-songwriters in your genre but backing it up with this type of performance EVERY TIME you play Philadelphia, it really sets the bar. The folks here view her as their own superstar!
