Our Last Pay-Per-View of the Year: Worlds End Predictions 2023

The final pay-per-view between all of the wrestling companies commences this weekend as AEW presents Worlds End. The Continental Classic will have a winner, and we will have an ROH Champion again, MJF and Samoa Joe clash in the main event, as well as the possibility of finding out who the devil is. So let’s predict the final show of the year.

Zero Hour:

FTW Championship: Hook vs Wheeler Yuta: Of course, we have a ROH Champion on this show, because why not? Hook gets a match in his home town which is fun especially since this is FTW rules and not Pure rules. Hook will get the big win to kick off this show on Zero Hour.

Winner: “And Still” Hook

20 Men Battle Royal for a Shot at the TNT Championship: So before Daniel Garcia got added to the card he was my pick to win this match, but as always we have to pivot. To me, I think one of the recently released WWE Superstars come out in this match since their 90 days just ended two weeks ago. The one that makes the most sense is Nic Nemeth since his brother is already in AEW, so he is my pick to win this match.

Winner: Nic Nemeth

Main Show:

Championship Final of the AEW Continental Classic for the Innagural Triple Crown Championship: Jon Moxley vs Eddie Kingston:Best friends facing off for all of the gold. As the tournament has gone on I think everyone predicted who was going to be in the finals as this just made the most sense. As the ROH person here, I know for a fact Moxley will not be going to ROH and I would like that title defended again, so for that reason alone I am picking Eddie Kingston.

Winner: “And New” Eddie Kingston

All-Star Eight-Man Tag: Claudio Castagnoli, Bryan Danielson, Mark Briscoe, and Daniel Garcia vs Brody King, Jay White, Jay Lethal, and Brodie King: This match was made after I asked Tony Khan about Daniel Garcia on the media call, coincidence I think not. This match is going to rock. All eight of these men had an amazing showing in the Continental Classic and I am excited to see them in the card this weekend. I think Garcia gets the win in this tag match to continue his momentum in 2024.

Winners: Claudio Castagnoli, Bryan Danielson, Mark Briscoe, and Daniel Garcia

TBS Championship: Julia Hart vs Abadon: Stocked that both women’s championships will be on the line for this show, and that Abadon is getting a huge singles match on pay-per-view. Since Skye Blue is most likely going to be in Hart’s corner Thunder Rosa will be in Abadon’s. Hart just won the title and most recently won the New York Post’s Female Breakout Wrestler of the Year, so I do not expect her to lose the title anytime soon.

Winner: “And Still” Julia Hart

Andrade El Idolo vs Miro: I think this is the match where you see CJ finally pair back up again with Miro. This match should be good as I believe this match may be the sleeper of the whole show. My pick is CJ turns her back on Andrade and goes back with her husband to go on a dominant run throughout AEW.

Winner: Miro

AEW Women’s World Championship: Toni Storm vs Riho: By far Toni Storm has had one of the best years out of any female on the AEW roster. It’s great that Rhio is back and she has done great on AEW TV over the last couple of weeks, but just like with Hart, Storm just won the title and I do not expect her to lose this match.

Winner: “And Still” Toni Storm

Keith Lee vs Swerve Strickland: Finally, this match is taking place. This is a tough one to call. On one hand, Strickland has to win right? He has had a stellar year and most people have him wanting to win the AEW World Heavyweight Championship next year. However, Lee has been waiting months for this match the baby face has to win. Ultimately Strickland will hurt from suffering a loss here, so for that reason alone, he will win this match.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Sting and Darby Allin vs Konosuke Takeshita, PowerHouse Hobbs, Big Bill, and Ricky Starks: Well, the card is subject to change, right? The Sting Farewell tour looks to continue since he was added to the card, but it will be cool for the NY crowd to see him. Since Sting is undefeated I do not see him suffering his first loss in an eight-man tag team match. He and the rest of the faces will get the win.

Winners: Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Sting and Darby Allin

No Disqualification for the AEW TNT Championship: Christian Cage vs Adam Copeland: I sure hope this match is better than the one they had on Dynamite a couple of weeks ago. Since the stipulation is a No DQ, you know that Nick and Shayna Wayne are going to get involved in this match as well as other wrestlers. Since this is the big pay-per-view blowoff, Copeland has to get the win here, if not then what are we doing here?

Winner: “And New” Adam Copeland

AEW World Heavyweight Championship: MJF vs Samoa Joe: This is the hardest match to call on the card. If you had told me before Adam Cole got hurt, I would have told you Joe would 100% be the new champion. However, with this being in MJF’s hometown and with plans constantly changing I can see this going both ways. However, with the assumption that the devil will be revealed at the end of this match, the only thing that makes sense is Joe winning the gold as the devil will help him win the main event on Long Island.

Winner: “And New” Samoa Joe

Worlds End is streaming live on Bleacher Report on Saturday, December 30th at 8:00 PM EST
