The theme of this pay-per-view is fitting since this is the last Team Kimmy vs Team Bill article for the foreseeable future. As my friends told me I am just leveling up, however me saying I am retiring from media at the age of 23 is hilarious so that is what we are going with. So for the final time, let’s review World’s End.
AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone vs Kris Statlander:
Kimmy: If one thing is for certain about this match is that not only will it top the last one, but will also be the longest AEW Women’s match in the history of the company. In my opinion, I wish they would have had Mone issue an open challenge and someone else on the roster answered it, since we already did this match a month ago and Statlander lost clean. Mone is walking into the Tokyo Dome as double champion so no way she is losing this one.
Winner: “And Still” Mercedes Mone
Bill: Both Kimmy and I were at Full Gear this year, and without a doubt Stat vs. Mone’s first match was easily Mercedes’ best match in AEW to date. You need “The CEO” on the PPV, so why not run back an excellent match? With Wrestle Dynasty on the horizon, there’s no way Mercedes 2 Belts is not walking into Japan decked out in gold.
Winner: “And Still” Mercedes Mone
AEW International Championship: Konosuke Takeshita vs Will Hobbs:
Kimmy: This is one feud that has definitely blown off steam due to AEW shoving the Continental Classic down our throats. Takeshita is going to have a big 2025 with the rest of the Don Callis family, this is a must win for him. Sorry Hobbs.
Winner: “And Still” Konosuke Takeshita
Bill: AEW seems allergic to giving either of these two major spotlights on TV. I hope this one gets some time, and hopefully leads to a follow-up match with a stipulation attached to it. Either way you slice, The Alpha takes the dub here.
Winner: “And Still” Konosuke Takeshita
Tijuana Street Fight for the AEW Women’s Championship: Mariah May vs Thunder Rosa:
Kimmy: Not much to say here besides May should win this match in less than five minutes and move on to that newbie on the roster Toni Storm.
Winner: “And Still” Mariah May
Bill: This match has had a solid build, but has been lost in the shuffle to the return of Toni Storm. I think Mariah and Thunder will have a good match together, as Thunder thrives in street fights and despite the creative during her run as champ, Mariah does not miss when the bell rings.
Winner: “And Still” Mariah May
AEW Dynamite Diamond Ring: MJF vs Adam Cole:
Kimmy: The one thing that is bad about this feud is because of Cole’s injury last year everything got delayed and now it seems that this feud has been dragged out forever. This was the same show where a year ago Cole revealed himself as the devil and turned his back on his best friend MJF. Since I truly doubt this match is going to end the feud, Max will win here and the two will run it back early on next year and that is when Cole will finally get his big win.
Winner: “And Still” MJF
Bill: This feud needs, needs, needs to end… but it won’t. Both of these guys are wildly talented and just need to move onto something — especially Adam Cole. Logic says MJF wins here, because he never loses the ring. However, Cole is 0-1-1 against Long Island’s favorite son, and him winning the ring off MJF would be a surprise and will continue the feud (which it seems they want to do anyway) and gives them a reason to have one, final big match. Maybe a cage?
Winner: “And New” Adam Cole
Continental Classic Semifinal: Will Ospreay vs Kyle Fletcher:
Kimmy: Not only am I picking Fletcher to win this match, I am picking Fletcher to win the whole tournament. Fletcher has shown this year and has made himself known as the future of AEW, who will do some big things in 2025. As the tournament has shown, a loss will not hurt Ospreay, and truthfully Fletcher walking into Australia as a champion in February sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
Winner: Kyle Fletcher
Bill: My head says Fletcher, but my heart says Ospreay … and when have I ever followed my head when it comes to predictions? The Billy GOAT is going to get his win back against Fletcher in what will be a show-stealing, knock down, drag out affair. I think Ospreay will go on to win the tournament and then face Fletcher for the Continental Title in Australia, where “The Protostar” gets the hometown win.
Winner: Will Ospreay
Continental Classic Semifinal: Kazuchika Okada vs Ricochet:
Kimmy: As someone who was at the Hammerstein shows everyday this past weekend, I have never seen Ricochet more over in his entire wrestling career. For that reason alone I feel that he should advance to the finals to face Fletcher, however as the face of the C2, you can not do the finals without the Rainmaker himself.
Winner: Kazuchika Okada
Bill: You don’t call someone “The Best Tournament Wrestler in the History of Japan” and not have them make the finals. Okada is going to be such a damn babyface in this match because the crowd haaaaaates Ricochet. Big Rick is gonna lose here, and move into a feud with Swerve.
Winner: Kazuchika Okada
Continental Classic Finals: TBD vs TBD:
Kimmy: So based on my predictions we will have Okada vs Fletcher as this year’s finals for the C2, which will be an amazing match. Everyone in the Elite has lost their titles and there is only one person left with that being Okada. This will lead everyone within that faction (including a returning Omega, which we will get to in a couple seconds) to go after the Deathriders and take back control of AEW. This is why the Fletchlights will be happy this Saturday night!
Winner: “And New” Kyle Fletcher
Bill: Ospreay vs. Okada for the Continental Title? Uhhhhh, Merry Christmas everyone! This match will be absolutely incredible, and Ospreay will take the win here. Okada loses and if Kimmy’s predictions about The Elite return (which it likely will) we’re going to see Omega and Okada working together? And you know that’s going to lead to those to eventually imploding and fighting each other … at AEW’s first stadium show in the US.
Winner: “And New” Will Ospreay
AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley vs Jay White vs Adam Page vs Orange Cassidy:
Kimmy: Yay, for Kenny Omega returning on AEW programming at the end of this match. Omega will come out to go face to face with Moxley as the unsung hero wants to get his company back in control. Like I said earlier within the coming weeks we will see everyone from The Elite come back as baby faces to fight for the love of AEW. In terms of the match it should be fine, glad to see White actually being used as the main event star that he is.
Winner: “And Still” Jon Moxley
Bill: This match is going to do what a lot of AEW PPV matches do — over deliver on the in-ring. The angle for this has been okay to solid up till Dynamite on 34th Street when things really got good. I think all four of these men are going to have their working boots on and then some. They all have great chemistry together, so this will lead to a tremendous way to close out AEW’s 2024.
Winner: “And Still” Jon Moxley
The current record in Bill vs Kimmy is 6-5-5 in favor of Bill
