Senior Writers Aaron and Josh Sarnecky are back to talk about Shutter Island for its 10th anniversary.
Shutter Island is based on the novel by Dennis Lehane, adapted by screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis and directed by legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams, Max von Sydow, Jackie Earle Haley, Emily Mortimer, Patricia Clarkson, and Ted Levine. It hit theaters February 19, 2010.
The brothers talk about how their opinions of the movie have changed, the quality of the performances, and their interpretation of the film’s ambiguous ending. Aaron and Josh also discuss how the movie fits into Scorsese’s filmography and how a certain other film starring Leo continues to overshadow Shutter Island.
