After traveling the world for the last two weeks, I have returned to review ROH. Hooray! Now I haven’t seen any episodes between SuperCard of Honor and this episode so let’s see how the fallout after Supercard of Honor is treating ROH.
Ari Davari vs Mark Briscoe:
Briscoe is over! He goes out there every week and puts on a great show and the crowd loves him. Unfortunately, the other Varsity Athletes could not help themselves and get involved constantly. Thankfully this was not enough for Briscoe as he got the hard-fought victory here.
Winner: Mark Briscoe
After the match, the Varsity Athletes continued to beat down Briscoe, until the AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR made the save for their friend. Looks like we might be getting FTR and Mark Briscoe vs Varsity Athletes in the next couple of weeks.
Eddie Kingston Promo:
WOW! This was good. Kingston talks about how he underestimated Castagnoli and he had a game plan that he did not follow through with. Although he would want to blame everyone else for his loss he blamed himself like he promised he would a couple of weeks ago. Kingston also revealed he has a hernia that he most likely needs to get surgically removed. Kingston also talks about how when he first debuted for AEW he tweeted that in life you either win or learn and after his match with Castagnoli, he definitely learned and will move forward toward his next goal in ROH.
#EddieKingston breaks his silence as he talks about his match with #ROH World champion @ClaudioCSRO at #SupercardofHonor.

Skye Blue vs Kelley Madan:
Blue has been undefeated in ROH since the new era commenced over the last seven weeks. Now since she is officially “All Elite” I think you will be seeing a lot more of her, and maybe she will be the one to defeat “The Fallen Goddesses” after all.
Winner: Skye Blue
Darius Martin vs Mike Bennett:
Although this feud has been going on for a while, these two are incapable of having a bad match. This was a great back and forth until Taven got involved and cost the Kingdom the win by disqualification.
Winner: Darius Martin via DQ
After the match, Taven and Bennett kept beating down Martin until Action Andretti came to make the save. The five of them had a stare-down as Andretti and Martin challenged them to a future tag team match. Now that Dante is out for the foreseeable future, this is a smart move to pair Darius and Action together, they can make an entertaining tag team.
Wheeler Yuta vs Tracy Williams:
Now that Yuta is no longer Pure Champion, I can enjoy his matches again, thank God. These two have very similar styles and as commentary kept saying they have a history of competing against each other. Yuta gets the win as he tries to gain momentum after losing his title two weeks ago.
Winner: Wheeler Yuta
Darius Martin and Action Andretti call out the Kingdom saying that they are done playing games and that there are some new kings within ROH. Business is picking up within ROH people!!
The Work Horsemen (Anthony Henry & JD Drake) vs Katsuyori Shibata & Alex Coughlin:
Now last week when ROH was filmed in Long Island hardly anyone knew who Shibata was and he nearly got no reaction. A week later seconds into the opening bell people were chanting his name which is always exciting to see. Henry & Drake made their tag team debut against this amazing team and unfortunately, it was not enough for the Pure Champion and Alex Coughlin.
Winners: Katsuyori Shibata & Alex Coughlin
After they win, Coughlin stares down Shibata and challenges him to a future Pure championship match.
Willow Nightingale vs Little Mean Kathleen:
Ian Riccaboni did a rap during Willow’s entrance and it was one of the funniest things throughout this entire episode. Protect him at all costs. Willow getting rid of the iconic purple in her hair makes me sad, but this was a huge statement as this is her third win in a row on ROH TV!
Winner: Willow Nightingale
Tony Nese vs Stu Grayson:
Every time anyone from the Varsity Athletes made their entrance Mark Sterling did the ring announcing and it was absolute gold. Seeing Grayson in ROH is fantastic. He truly just fits the mold, Tony Khan made the right decision in rehiring him. This was a really big win for the Dark Order member, hopefully, more to come.
Winner: Stu Grayson
After the match, Vincent and Dutch come out to give Stu a standing ovation. This was hinting at the separation between Uno and Grayson. Can we see the demise of the Dark Order? Vincent cuts a promo about how when Grayson left the Dark Order carried on without him and started insisting that maybe his family is not within the Dark Order.
Proving Grounds Match: Ashley D’Amboise vs Athena:
After it was reported last month, D’Amboise was offered an AEW contract and after she has appeared on Dark and ROH over the last couple of weeks, I wonder if she accepted the offer? Athena has been carrying this women’s division on her back since she won the title. This is the Athena we all wanted in NXT! Although D’Amboise put on a great showing, it was not enough for the current ROH Women’s Champion.
Winner: Athena
After the match, D’Amboise says that she expected more honor in ROH instead of anger. Athena attacks her from behind and says she is tired of ROH giving her these easy opponents week after week. She welcomes D’Amboise to ROH formally as she kicks her in the face and walks away.
ROH World Heavyweight Championship: Claudio Castagnoli vs Metalik:
This was one of the faster-paced Castagnoli matches, which we hardly see but is always a great match. This was a great way to end a jam-packed show, especially with the number of close falls Metalik had over the current champion. Castagnoli wins, but the question remains on who will be the one to dethrone one of the pivotal members of the BCC!
Winner: “And Still” Claudio Casatgnoli
Overall:
I prefer the Universal crowd over the pre/post-Dynamite crowd. The crowd is awaiting AEW and the bigger stars, especially last week when there was barely anyone in the arena after Dynamite ended and the ROH taping started. Other than that this episode moved by quickly and had three women’s matches on a wrestling program is always a win!
