Reaction: While it may be just a teaser, I’m already to book tickets for opening weekend. Yes, any James Bond film will get lifelong fans like yours truly in theaters, but this teaser is spine tingling. It truly fits the definition of a teaser — it gives you just a hint of what the plot is and it leaves you begging for more. And that’s the beauty of Sam Mendes and the current Bond writing team. Pre-Daniel Craig, Bond teasers and trailers were always filled with hot women, hot cars and hot action. It was pure run-and-gun, sex-and-sizzle with the plot being the furthest thing from anyone’s mind.
SPECTRE, however, seems to be fueled by the story, a story that features the debut/return/reboot of Bond’s most notorious arch enemy — also named Spectre (which is an acronym for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion). Yes, we even get that famed SPECTRE logo.
However, what’s really, really intriguing is the Bond’s connection to the organization. Is this man in the shadows, which is obviously Christoph Waltz, a family member? A brother, even?
This teaser is must watch, people. Forget the summer movie season, when it’s going to be the fall?
SPECTRE hits theaters on November 6, 2015
