Star Trek Equinox Panel and Exclusive Screening – Lucas P. Jones
Thursday, October 9
3:15pm-4:00pm
Javitz Center, Room 1A05
Thursday at 3:15 pm is when the Star Trek Equinox panel leaves port, and I couldn’t be more excited. As a long time Star Trek fan, there is no way I could pass this up. And hey, as long as J.J. Abrams isn’t attached to this project, so it should be pretty good. As far as I can tell, Equinox is going to be a TV movie based off of a two-part episode of Star Trek Voyager. I say this, because there isn’t a ton of information available, well, anywhere at this point. Which is one reason I’m so excited for the panel.
The second reason is that I just really want to see some new Star Trek. I’m a huge fan of TOS (The Original Series for you non-trekkies), because of the character development, and the compelling stories, not so much for the action and special effects. If Equinox can deliver a plot that is interesting and compelling, it could signal a new wave of Trek that brings us back to Gene Roddenberry’s vision of the future, rather than Michael Bay’s. The panel will feature Some Voyager veterans as well as Eric Nyenhuis of Walking Dead fame, as well as Gary Lockwood, who played Gary Mitchel in the Star Trek episode, “Where No Man Has Gone Before.” Do I have your attention now, Trek Fans?
