4. Batman Begins (2005)

It’s the best origin story ever told. Period. Let me take you back to the summer of 2005. I’ve been a Batman fan my whole life, but I didn’t even care about this movie when it came out. I was all about Revenge of the Sith that summer, and barely paid attention to the trailers. Not only that, but the absolute stink of Batman & Robin still emanated through out Batman lore. It was dark times for the Caped Crusader. When Revenge of the Sith finally died down, I eventually realized there was a Batman movie and went to see it. My expectations could not have been lower. I’ve never been more shocked after a movie than this one. Holy shit, that was awesome. The acting. The genuine unpredictable twists. It was pure Batman bliss. The only negative point on Batman Begins is that the first half hour where Bruce Wayne trains with the League of Shadows is so damn good, it made the second half when he actually becomes Batman a little less climactic. But that’s a minor quibble. Batman Begins is awesome, and the quintessential reboot of our time.
