23. The Sixth Sense – 1999
The Hanging Family
A little bit about young Tommy Tracy: when I was younger I was convinced I could see ghosts no one else could. Who knows if that was just an active child’s imagination or reality but either way, ghosts haunted me. So when I saw The Sixth Sense at nine years old (of course, way too young) I reverted back to wearing diapers. This movie scared me so much that I spent the next month sleeping on my parent’s floor, jumping at every single sound I heard. The scene that scared me the most was the hanging family who appear in the hallway because this was a vivid memory I remembered when I was younger. Their wide open eyes, unblinking, staring right at Haley Joel Osment was horrible, making me feel as if the ghosts were still watching me.
