Alien on T.V.
I think we can all agree this is the scariest moment in this film. As Joaquin Phoenix watches a recorded video of a birthday party in Mexico, we ponder what we’re about to see. While the kids scream, the camera follows the windy bushes outside. M. Night Shyamalan holds out just long enough and finally, an alien walks out from behind the bushes and Phoenix yells, “OH!” It’s quick but effective and everyone I know jumped the first time they saw it.
Honorable Mention: The Alien of the roof is also scary as hell. It almost beat out this one.
