11. Jaws – 1975
The Shark Eats the Kid
Firstly, how good of a movie is Jaws? Everything about Jaws is great; the acting, the slow burns, the story, the score all work to perfection in a film that, believe it or not, no one believed in. While I’m not scared of sharks, I am cautious when I go into the water. I blame the killing of the kid because when I first saw this, I was his age and I always thought kids were safe in horror films. Apparently not and when Jaws subtly pops out and takes down this kid, tearing him to shreds, we all became afraid to go back into the water.
