Wrestlemania 31 Predictions Panel

The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt

Bill Bodkin:  I think this is going to be a wild brawl with Undertaker edging Bray out. It’ll make Bray look strong, but ultimately after last year’s shocking loss, we all feel better about Taker getting his possible last Mania win.

Steven Miller: We have been saying that this will be Mark Calloway’s last match for the past five Manias, but this time I think it’s true. Approaching 50, looking like 70, his X-Rays must show him to 110. He hasn’t wrestled since Lesnar put the one in 21-1. He will probably perform as if my first car, a 1970 Ford Torino, were still around; old, creaky, rusty, and on its last legs. Yet, if he has informed management this is his final hurrah, he will be given the victory. Though it would seem logical for him to do the job to Wyatt and have the new evil manipulator of all that is spiritual to send his soul on its final journey, Mike Rotunda’s little boy will survive a loss on the big stage. The legacy of the Undertaker needs a victory to rest in peace.

Jeff Parsons: I honestly don’t think this match will happen. I have a feeling this whole deal is more to have ‘Taker come out and “bless” Wyatt as the new evil force in the WWE so they can take his character in a more sinister direction, especially since it seems like Wyatt has been spinning his wheels for a year or so.

Anthony Toto: This is the toughest match to predict out of the entire card. On one hand, Bray Wyatt is a sinister heel and his passion for his character is unmatched. Could you imagine the heel heat Wyatt would receive if he defeated The Undertaker? This would instantly cement his status as a top worker for the rest of his career. However, I’m positive The Undertaker is looking to retire on the highest possible note after suffering a concussion at last year’s Wrestlemania. The shock of witnessing his streak crumble in such a non-thrilling way upset a ton of fans last year. Would a second consecutive loss cheapen The Undertaker’s sacred Wrestlemania legacy? Winner: The Undertaker

Kenny Pete: I’m looking forward to this match more than I probably should be. It will be an interesting clash of styles at best, at worst it will be a slow, plodding, cluster-muck of a contest that could get bowling shoe ugly real quick if they aren’t careful. Bray has been unstoppable since the Royal Rumble ™ & has completely carried the build to this match. For that reason he will do the honors & make the legend look great in the process while the Undertaker will be built up for what will be his final match at WrestleMania ™ 32 next year at Jerry’s place in Arlington TX, which happens to be down the road from Death Valley after you make a left at The Broken Skull Ranch. ‘Taker Wins.

Michael Dworkis: This makes me nervous. A second loss buries the Undertaker even more. As a character and his legacy. As much as I love Bray Wyatt, I have a hard time seeing him have a 20+ year career with WWE. Hell, gimmicks don’t last that long these days either. Would a victory for Wyatt cement a legacy for him? Will it earn him the WWE Championship within six months? At this point, I see this match as redemption for the deadman and a reminder the Undertaker is still the master of his domain. Winner: The Undertaker

Jon Lister: If the Undertaker has anything left, this should be a good one. Lots of close kick outs on moves that would normally get the pinfall. I have no idea why Undertaker is coming back, but maybe he actually likes Rotundo Jr. and was willing to job for him to put him over. Naaaaaaaahhhhhhh, can’t be it, though it should. Look for Taker to get number 22.

Evi Dworkis: I pick Undertaker so that he can retire off a big win and keep Wyatt as the creeptastic character he is. What I am praying to happen is for Undertaker NOT leaving the match on a stretcher.
