The Ending
I’ll admit one thing about The Blair Witch Project; the last fifteen minutes are some of the most unnerving in horror history and still petrify me to this day. This film is not scary for the first hour and a half, focusing more on off in the distance sounds, never really letting you know what is going on. Three college students attempt to uncover the story of the witch and this turns out to be a bad move. When the film nears its end, the group gets separated and “director”, Heather, happens upon the house of child murderer Rustin Parr. As she makes her way down into the basement, screaming her lungs out, she sees her friend Mike, standing in the corner of the room. This is part of Parr’s story, as he puts the children in the corner to wait their turn while he murdered the others. Heather is hit, off camera, and murdered as we see Mike still standing quietly in the corner.
