Singing in the Rain
Some images just stick in your mind and it’s hard to get them out. A Clockwork Orange does this throughout its entire time on screen, making you feel as if you’re seeing something you shouldn’t be watching. When Alex (played by Malcolm McDowell) and his gang of “droogs” invade a home and terrorize a married couple, it is very upsetting. While the gang holds down the husband, Alex begins to sexually assault the woman, peeling off her clothes and having his way with her, all the while crooning “Singing in the Rain”, as if he’s in nirvana. It’s very creepy and stays with you long after the film has ended.
