54. Phantasm – 1979
Graveyard Scene
I may have to return my Horror Members Card because I’ve only seen Phantasm once, many years ago. However, that doesn’t stop the dream sequence from being downright awesome and scary enough to stick with me after only one viewing. When Angus Scrimm’s Tall Man is standing above a young boys bed and hands erupt from the ground to grab him, well, it’s the things nightmares are made of. This scene is the reason I was scared to fall asleep at night and even more scared to open my eyes once I closed them.

53. It’s Alive – 1974
“What’s Wrong with My Baby”?
A baby is one of the greatest gifts a married couple could receive…or so you’d think. When Frank and Lenore Davis head to the hospital to give birth, everything feels normal. When complications happen during the birthing process, all hell breaks loose. The newborn begins to kill all the doctors off-screen (very effectively) and when Frank comes in to check on the commotion, he sees the bloody carnage and hears his wife yelling, “where’s my baby!? What’s wrong with my baby?!” It’s bloody good fun and a mother’s worse nightmare.
