2. Beyond Good & Evil (Season 4, 4 Parts)
This four part episode is completely and utterly bonkers. There’s no other way to describe it. A better title for this would have been “All-Star X-Men.” Every character seems to make an appearance, all with their own agendas. Magneto. Mr. Sinister. Sabretooth. Angel. Psylocke. Cable. If you ever wanted to watch the X-Men in all their glory, this probably showcases them at their best. At the end of the day though, it’s all about Apocalypse. While I understand the film can’t go this route, I’d be lying if I didn’t say there’s a level of disappointment there. X-Men: Apocalypse seems to simplify Apocalypse’s goal in that he just wants to destroy everything. This episode brings to the surface what the apocalypse truly means – the end of time. Yes. That’s basically the episode – Apocalypse attempts to destroy time itself. Yikes. While there are storylines galore, it all culminates on the axis of time itself. Bishop tries to figure out what the hell is going on, while constantly being annoyed by an Aladdin-like genie character who’s actually the time janitor. I’m not kidding. This is how cuckoo the episode gets. “Beyond Good & Evil” epitomizes the word “epic.” There’s no other way to describe it.
